Record Crowds Expected to Watch Endeavour Launch

April 27, 2011 | WMFE - More than half a million visitors are expected for Friday's final launch of Space Shuttle Endeavour. Thousands are already filling up hotels along the Space Coast. Only one more launch remains on the schedule before NASA's shuttle program ends.

Tourism officials expect as may as a million visitors to view the final shuttle launch in June.    All of the excitement at Cape Canaveral is great for business in Brevard County, but what happens after the shuttle program ends later this year? 
90.7’s Tom Parkinson spoke with Robert Varley, executive director of the Space Coast Office of Tourism, about the future of tourism in Brevard County and his estimates of the number of visitors for Friday's launch.
