Hank Fishkind March 29 - Latest Census Figures Show Florida Growing Again

March 29, 2011 | WMFE -The US Census Bureau released more data last week showing the 5 county Central Florida region leading the state in population growth.

The region, which consists of Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Lake and Volusia counties, gained more than half-a-million residents over the 10 year period between 2000 and 2010.
Orange was the fastest growing county in Florida gaining about 250 thousand people. That represents a 28 percent increase over the decade.
90.7’s Tom Parkinson asked economic analyst Hank Fishkind what these figures mean for Central Florida’s economy and what’s behind the increase in population.
