Legoland Florida Conducts Preview Tour

March 23, 2011 | WMFE - Legoland Florida held a preview tour today through its still-unfinished Winter Haven theme park.

It will be the largest of five Legolands around the world and is expected to incorporate as many as 50 million of the familiar plastic bricks, in attractions geared toward children ages 2 to 12.

Legoland is being built on the former site of Cypress Gardens, which was one of Florida’s first theme parks. Legoland planners say they’ll keep the botanical gardens and the famous water ski shows from Cypress Gardens.

The park is about 45 minutes from Orlando’s attractions, but planners say they’re counting on the well-known brand name to draw families to Legoland when it opens in October.
