Intersection: Conservationists Praise Kissimmee Everglades Land Deal

July 27, 2010 -- Florida conservationists are hailing the announcement of last week's major land deal in the northern Everglades. Development rights to 26,000 acres of ranchland near Fisheating Creek south of Kissimmee were sold to the federal government.

Some conservation leaders say the transaction marks a whole new approach to Everglades restoration.
