Hank Fishkind July 27 - Economic Positions of the Candidates for Governor. July 27, 2010 - Florida will elect a new governor in November, and the primary election is less than a month away. Economic issues are at the top of voters' minds this year so 90.7's Tom Parkinson asked economic analyst Hank Fishkind to help sort out the budget-related proposals of the major candidates. The big contenders for the state's top job are Democrat Alex Sink, Florida's Chief Financial Officer; Republican Attorney General Bill McCollum and his primary opponent, former healthcare executive Rick Scott; and independent candidate Bud Chiles, the son of former Florida Governor Lawton Chiles.
