Brevard Jobs Agency launches series of job fairs with Monster.com June 17, 2010 -- In Brevard County today, Brevard Workforce is partnering up with Monster.com to launch a job fair designed to help space industry workers. The event is taking place in Cape Canveral. Later this month, other job fairs are planned at the Kennedy Space Center, which will only be open to KSC employees. Those fairs are planned for June 24th and 25th. An estimated 8,000 to 9,000 space shuttle workers at the Kennedy Space Center are expected to lose their jobs when shuttle fleet is scheduled to retire, sometime later this year. A major scaling down of the shuttle's replacement program, called Constellation, is adding to the need for more job opportunities on the Space Coast. |
