Oil Spill Prompts Fishing Ban in Some State Waters

June 14, 2010 -- Florida wildlife officials have announced the state's first fishing ban related to the oil spill in the Gulf. Starting immediately, there will be no harvesting of fish, shrimp, or crabs in state waters along 23 miles of coastline stretching eastward from the Florida-Alabama line.

Meanwhile, President Obama is coming to Pensacola as part of a two-day tour of areas affected by the BP oil spill.  Starting Monday, the president will visit coastal areas of Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida.  He plans a televised national address about the disaster on Tuesday night.  The White House and some members of Congress want BP to establish a multibillion-dollar compensation fund for victims of the spill.
