Commercial Launch Set for Late This Week

05/31/10 - A new commercial rocket designed to carry cargo, and possibly astronauts, to the International Space Station is scheduled to launch from Cape Canaveral later this week.

The liftoff was delayed last week because of other launches at the Cape … and because the company that makes the rocket was waiting for final Air Force approval. Now, Space-X says it expects the launch to go forward no sooner than Friday.

90.7’s Judith Smelser has this look at the Falcon Nine rocket and its place in the move toward commercial space exploration.
