Congressman Mica Has Concerns About High Speed Rail Project

January 28, 2010 -- President Barack Obama has announced $1.25 billion in federal stimulus money for a high-speed rail line between Orlando and Tampa, but longtime rail proponent Congressman John Mica tells 90.7 there's a lot of work to do before the project can get off the ground.

Republican John Mica of Winter Park has been working on rail projects in Florida for decades.  He's pleased the state is getting federal money for the high-speed line, but he has several concerns about how the project will proceed.  He spoke with 90.7's Tom Parkinson, who asked him first why he was not in Tampa on Thursday for the President's announcement.
