OSHA Cites Disney in Monorail Accident

Walt Disney World has been cited for violating federal safety regulations in a monorail accident that killed a Disney worker last summer. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration charged Walt Disney World Thursday with multiple violations and proposed fining the theme park 44 thousand dollars in penalties for the accident that killed a 21-year-old worker. OSHA investigators say safety violations contributed to the July 5 accident, which occurred when one of the monorail trains backed into another train killing driver Austin Wuennenberg of Kissimmee. Disney World has 15 days to comply with recommendations or to contest the citations.
